The Stone Pines

The Stone Pines are looking ahead to 2012 as a breakout year. After recording their last CD Goodbye Devil (April 2011) at the Warehouse Studios with producer/engineer Eric Mosher (Franz Ferdinand, AC/DC, Chickenfoot), the guys picked up where they left off in early 2012 and recorded their first album, Landmark (May 2012). The band is following up the release with a two week Western Canada tour.

On their new album set to release on May 20th, the band hopes their new brand of soulful blues-rock moves the listener like the process of making the album moved them. After hearing the two lead singles from the record, Wild Child Style and Rollin’ Train, I believe that won’t be an issue.

It’s my favorite time of year, the weather’s getting nicer, summer’s on its way, and we’re about to release lots of new music!

Our two song “Landmark Singles” CD will be released a week today, 4/20, and we’re holding a contest on our twitter page (https://twitter.com/#!/thestonepines) where we’re giving away a copy of the single EVERY DAY until it’s released! All you have to do is Retweet one of our tweets promoting the single and you’re entered. The best part, entries roll over, so once you’re entered you have a chance to win every day until 4/20!

Tour Update: We’ve booked a few shows for the tour so far, but are still nailing down exact dates in August. We can’t wait to hit the road once the album is released!

We have been really busy over the last couple months getting everything ready for our album release, lots has been going on! We announced the release date of the single off the album, 4/20, and the full album comes out 5/20. We’ll be releasing a live video on 4/20 and will release our first ever music video the same day as the full album.

We’ve got a new website being designed ( http://thestonepines.com/ ), and it should be ready later this month! It’s being designed by Conor from A Name Unheard (awesome Vancouver band, check them out here: http://anameunheard.bandcamp.com/album/human), and we are really excited for it. You’ll be able to keep up with everything Stone Pines related on there once it’s up!

We’ve pushed the Western Canada Album Release Tour back to August, but we are playing dates from Vancouver to Edmonton! Dates/venues TBC soon!

We’re also putting together our applications for some local band contests, we are going to be applying for this year’s Peak Performance Project, as well as Fox Seeds.

There’s less than 2 weeks until we head into The Warehouse Studios to record our first album, we are super excited! We’re jamming lots to prepare over the next two weeks, and on March 9th and 10th we’ll be recording the new stuff.

Hey Everyone,

Welcome to our new band blog! We’re going to be posting updates on what’s happening with the band on here, we’ve got alot planned this year!

Here’s what’s new:

NEW ALBUM + FUNDRAISER: We’re heading back into The Warehouse Studios at the end of February to record our first full length album with producer Eric Mosher (who worked with us on our last single Goodbye Devil: http://thestonepines.bandcamp.com/album/goodbye-devil) and we can’t wait to release the new songs for you! It’s going to be a 9 song CD and it will be coming out in March! We’ve saved money from our shows and received a FACTOR grant from the Canadian Government, but we still need to raise the rest of the money to pay for the recording and mixing of the album. We have come up with some sweet prizes for donating to the album, including signed copies of the CD when it comes out, t-shirts, and even a custom Larrivee guitar designed by our guitarist Corey Fenton!  Check out our campaign page here:

ALBUM RELEASE TOUR: To celebrate the release of the new Album, we’re going to be touring Western Canada from late April to early May! This is going to be the first tour of many, we can’t wait to hit the road!
